He was convicted of stealing (pickpocket) and was transported to Australia on the Ship 'Hero' when he was 18 years old, arriving in Sydney 1835.
Christopher was described as having red hair, hazel grey eyes and a ruddy, freckled complexion. He had a scar over his left eyebrow, a burn mark on his neck and two tattoos IHS and CJD on his right arm.
At some stage his name becomes Christopher.
In 1835, Christopher is recorded with other convicts, for running away and being apprehended and returned to Mr. A S Trood.
Christopher married Charlotte Acres/Akers in 1849 at Goulburn N.S.W. In 1840, he received his Ticket of Leave and was allowed to remain in the Illawarra area.
Christopher in 1851 was a member of a committee in support of Henry Osborne nominating for parliament.
The N.S.W. Historical Electoral Rolls 1855-1856. show Christopher was a Leaseholder on the Peterborough Estate.
In 1856, Christopher was on another committee to support Mr. Jenkins for parliament.
In 1859, Christopher signed a petition for the formation of the Municipality of Shellharbour.
Christopher donated 10 shillings towards the collection for John Priaux who had his arm torn off in a threshing machine.
In 1859, Christopher supported Patrick Collins and William James for a position on the Shellharbour Council.

Christopher died on 17 March 1866. He was intoxicated and drowned in Lake Illawarra while trying to cross it. He was 47 years old.
Christopher was buried at the Old Sand Cemetery, Shellharbour.
