Grey, Theodore James Collection
Collection summary
Theodore James Grey was born at Kiama to William Grey and Emily Baxter.
In 1903, he married Ada Gordon and started farming at Jerrara.
About this time, he joined the Illawarra Lancers, which became part of the Illawarra Light Horse at the start of WWI.
Theo did not serve overseas; he stayed in Australia, trained officers, and was part of the unit in charge of guarding Cronulla.
Theo retired from the Light Horse in 1932 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
