Deciphered - 'My dear Mary and children, only time to say I have sent by S.Train a turkey for Xmas. I hope it will prove as good as last years but I have been obliged to shut them up as they were too fond of grasses. I trust Mary will be ? ? And eat a good dinner off his wing before ? ? ? Mother its appearance ? Father wrote to me to say ? ? Was better and the doctor said he thought she should pull through. They are not going away until she is quite out of danger. Frank has been much better this past week. Julia went to Sydney yesterday. Will be back this evening. A bright and happy Xmas to all. Kisses for the chicks from their affectionate old Gran B. Weston.'

Deciphered - 'Dearest Mary, I sent you a breast of beef and a rump steak from dear old Chris' farm on breakfast.Hope you got home this Sunday all right and ? ??? Kiss the chicks from me. I feel half crazy? Love from your loving old gran B Weston.
3. Envelope addressed to Mrs G Perry.Provenance and SignifcanceBlanche Weston (nee Johnston) was born in NSW 23 July 1809, the daughter of Colonel George Johnston of Rum Rebellion fame, and convict, Esther Abrahams.
Blanch married George Edward Nicholas Weston.
George Johnston was granted land in the Illawarra (Calderwood/Albion Park) which he named Johnston's Meadows. The estate was inherited by the Weston family and became known as Weston's Meadows.
