AddressCalderwood Road, CalderwoodDescriptionThe Marshall Mount Cemetery was laid out in Calderwood Road Albion Park on land donated by Ald. Thomas Armstrong in 1879.

The first burial recorded is of James Pearson July 1881. James came to Australia with William Timbs in 1839 on the Formosa to work for Henry Osborne at Marshall Mount.

When the Illawarra Family History Group transcribed the graves, they noted that some headstones were missing.

In 1962 a Memorial Gateway was erected at the entrance to the Cemetery as a tribute to the pioneers. At the dedication, a tablet was unveiled by Mr. David Pearson, who was the first baby to be baptised at the Methodist Church, which stood on the cemetery site and had been demolished due to disrepair.

Mr. Pearson was also the grandson of James Pearson, the first person buried in the Cemetery.

The Marshall Mount Cemetery is today administered by the Albion Park Uniting Church.
