Provenance and SignifcanceAlbert Thomas was born 3 October 1886, the son of William and Jane Thomas (nee Pearson).
The family lived at 'Oakvale' farm, Calderwood.
Albert worked at Joe Izzard's store at Albion Park when he was a teenager. He also worked for Charlie 'Ameera' Box and delivered groceries to all parts of the district.
Albert conducted his own store at Waterloo in Sydney and then worked at a store at Beenleigh Queensland before enlisting for service with the 41st Battalion, serving in France in WWI. Albert's brother Walter, also served in WWI.
