Charles Vivian Ziems was a storekeeper at Albion Park and later Kiama, and during his early life, was a member of the Illawarra Lancers where he held the rank of Lieutenant.

As a Private, aged 25, he embarked from Sydney on board the RMS Morea in 1917, AIF Australian Imperial Camel Corps, 17th Reinforcements and later the 12th Light Horse Refits.DonorHenderson, Terry
