J. Heffron. The Principal was Mr. John Caldwell and 156 students were enrolled at the time of opening.
The 5 ¼ acre site was acquired by the Department of Education in 1950 and a four room timber building with offices etc was erected. When the population doubled by 1956, more buildings were added to the complex including a preschool.
