Butter paddles were used in the production of home made butter on the farm. The grooves in the paddles allowed excess buttermilk to be removed from the butter, and the rectangular shape helped mould the final product.
The paddles have ridges on the inside and are worn smooth on the outside.
Provenance and SignifcanceThe butter paddles were last owned by Norman Timbs, Great Grandson of Gabriel Timbs and Ellen O'Gorman.
Norman Joseph Timbs was born in 1933 at Albion Park. He married Maureen O'Hara, daughter of Patrick O'Hara and Elsie Schroder in 1956. After their marriage, Norman and Maureen moved to Oak Flats.DonorTimbs, Vicki
