AddressLake IllawarraDescriptionAn islet about 2km NE of Warrigal Hill and about 7km SE by E of Dapto. Bevan's Island is the largest Island at the entrance to Lake Illawarra.

Assigned 29th June 1973.

An Article from the Illawarra Mercury 27 August 1887 suggests Bevan's Island tales it name from A Mr. Bevan who farmed a fishing station on the island in 1843, and resided there with his wife, family and aged father for several years. He was a brickmaker for Mr George Brown prior to this.
