AddressMount WarrigalDescriptionMount Warrigal began as a residential development of Hooker-Rex Subdivision Pty Ltd, and by 1964, 850 blocks had been approved. Home sites were available from £695 per lot.

The Geographical Names Board wasn’t happy with the name put forward by the developers, and argued that as its height was under 1000 feet, the suburb did not qualify for mountain status, and should technically be called Warrigal Hill.

Prior to the proclamation of the suburb, the area had always been locally known as Native Dog Hill.
