DescriptionThis fig tree is planted on the site once belonging to the Timbs family and was probably planted by a family member - typical of 19th century plantings around the homestead.

The land was originally Lot 47 and part of Lot 48 of the Terry’s Meadows Estate.

The Timbs’ weatherboard homestead was named ‘Tara’, and once stood within the grounds of today's Mt Terry Primary School.

John Timbs lived at ‘Tara’ from 1892 until his death in 1936. He married Mary Agnes Condon, and they purchased the home from his mother in 1907 for £1300.
