These bench seats were used at the Commercial Hotel Albion Park prior to its destruction by fire in 1954. Provenance and SignifcanceJames Condon built the Commercial Hotel on the north west corner of Tongarra Road & Terry Street in 1885.
The hotel was sold to William Raftery about ten years later. The Raftery family ran the hotel until the early 1950s.
The was destroyed by fire 27 June, 1954. The vacant site was purchased by Shellharbour Council and named L R Mood Park in 1969.DonorStubbs, Desmond
