The family eventually settled at Dunmore at Glengowrie farm on Swamp Road. The Biggs had four children; Edward, Frederick, Robert and Annie.
George farmed and also worked as a carpenter and builder.
After the death of his parents, Edward Bigg took over the farm. He was a prominent breeder of Shorthorn and Illawarra cattle and his herd was known all over the state.
Edward served as Alderman on Shellharbour Council and was elected Mayor. He was the first president of the Shellharbour School of Arts and one of the founders of the Allowrie branch of the Sons and Daughters of Temperance. Edward also served as a director of the Dunmore Butter Factory.
