NameWilson Street CottageTypeBuildingResidenceDescriptionOn 22 September 1851, the Private Town of Peterborough (Shellharbour Village) was laid out. The streets of the village were named after D’Arcy Wentworth’s family, including his daughters Mary and Sophia, and his sons-in-law, Towns, Addison and Darley.
Initially the village grew around the harbour. Shellharbour Village was the hub of the municipality from the 1850s until the arrival of the railway in the late 1800s when operations moved to Albion Park.
This cottage is a rare example of the modest style of homes built during that period. Its was owned by the Hazelton family for generations.
