DescriptionStreet and roadside plantings in Australia evolved from a number of influences, including eighteenth century "Garden of Eden" models, sources of trees and the influences of key individuals and developments.

Historically Brush Box plantings are associated with the 1930's, increased settlement of Albion Park and the Shellharbour LGA generally, in the garden city concept. The most significant roadside planting in NSW resulted from the Department of Main Roads roadside tree program during the 1930's.
