Surf Road dates from the 1928 Ocean Beach estate subdivision. The auction for the sale of the estate was held 28 December 1928 to correspond with the summer season when holiday makers came to the Shellharbour and Lake Illawarra to enjoy the ‘healthy airs’ associated with such seaside locations. The Estate advertisement contain images including that of the original farm house and, even then, major trees within the landscape.
