Loose letter inside book - Letter addressed to Mr J. Wenham Secretary of the Shellharbour School of Arts, from George Laurence Fuller of Dunmore 17 August 1901. Letter from Fuller accepting the committees request for him to be Patron of the Shellharbour School of Arts. He encloses a cheque for 1 pound, 1 shilling. Meeting minutes of Aug 5 1901 Committee state that moved by E Allen and seconded by H. Vincin that GL Fuller be re-elected as Patron. Page 125.

Loose empty envelope inside book - Addressed to Mr J. Wenham.

Twelfth Annual Report of Shellharbour School of Arts July 1907. Library has 34 members slightly down on the previous year with 40. Most of the members are farmers and this may be due to the dry seasons and hard times. Two or three debates were held with neighbouring institutions. A billiard table was placed in the School of Arts Games Room this year. The table top used for ping pong was screwed to a good strong sold frame and it is hoped this game will entice more members. Loose large folded sheet of paper - Printed letter with written letterhead 'HMS Renown Sydney, 16th August 1920' - Addressed to Girls and Boys and signed Edward P. This letter is from Edward Prince of Wales to the children of Australia during his world tour. Talks of his first visit to Australia coming to an end and what a magnificent country Australia is. He is sorry to be leaving and sorry he could have met with you all. He has requested that you have an extra weeks holiday sometime this year as a special favour to him. Talks of soldiers serving their country and Empire during the war.

The Shellharbour School of Arts was established in August 1895, when the Shellharbour Municipal Council agreed to provide the Council Chambers building in Addison Street, for a meeting place, until Council sold the chambers building in 1896.

The School of Arts Committee was given land and a substantial donation of cash by George Laurence Fuller to erect a new building in Mary Street opposite the Public School. The School of Arts was opened by the end of the year 1896, and with a library, served the recreational needs of the people, and continued actively as Shellharbour’s library, kindergarten, community and debating room.Provenance and SignifcanceShellharbour School of Arts Archives.DonorSchool Of Arts
