William married Rebecca Whitfield in 1873.
William was accidentally killed at Penrith 11 September 1884 aged 36 years, when he was struck by a train while working as a guard on the Great Western Railway.
William's father, also William Jones, was a convict, transported aboard the 'Exmouth' in 1830. In 1838, he married convict Sarah Hurley in 1838. William work in many fields during his life. At one time he ran a delivery cart service between Parramatta and Sydney. William Jones Snr died at Parramatta in 1902, aged 93 years. DonorJackson, Lilian
