DescriptionImpressive rows of pines were planted along beach front reserves from the turn of the 20th century, increasing in popularity in the 1920's and 1930's with the era of guesthouse style holiday accommodation.

Pines were also a favourite of annual Arbor days - especially following World War One to commemorate fallen soldiers, arising from association with ‘The Lone Pine’.
