NameContorted Fig TreeTypeFloraGeolocation[1] DescriptionThe Peterborough Estate was granted to D'Arcy Wentworth in 1821. The Village of Peterborough (now Shellharbour Village) was laid out and registered 22 September 1851 and the streets were named after Wentworth and his family.
George Laurence Fuller of Dunmore, bought large sections of the original Peterborough Estate from the 1860s. He built homes for his tenant farmers who worked the land at Dunmore for generations.
Many of the fig trees and farmhouses remaining in the Dunmore area today are remnants of that time.
