Stan presided over the 1953 scheme to provide Albion Park and Oak Flats with a city water supply, which he described as ‘one of the most forward steps yet seen for the advancement of that part of the district’. The £168,000 water supply scheme was financed 50/50 by Council and the State Government.

In 1953, Stan encouraged the coordinated planting of street trees be introduced in the municipality. Council made available trees and shrubs for planting on footpaths, subject to the condition that residents rendered them proper care and attention. The same year he oversaw modern additions to the Albion Park Council Chambers to coincide with a visit to the Wollongong by Queen Elizabeth II the same year.

The Albion Park Showground was expanded and upgraded during Stan’s tenure, in an effort to accommodate inter district cricket and football matches and other sports. The new oval was described as one of the finest sporting grounds on the South Coast.

To maintain interest in the volunteer Bush Fire Brigade during low danger periods, Stan and Constable Thatcher (Captain) encouraged the establishment of volunteer centres in Calderwood, Mount Terry, Shellharbour, Warilla and Lake Illawarra, to work in consultation with deputy captains. Council allocated the sum of £80 for the purchase of additional approved equipment.

Stan Teggins served in the position of town clerk of the municipality for eight years.
